Prandelli to replace Lippi at Italy helm after World Cup

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli will replace Marcello Lippi as Italy coach after the World Cup, the Italian football federation said Sunday.




Prandelli agreed a four-year contract after talks with federation president Giancarlo Abete.



Prandelli, 52, a former midfielder who spent much of his playing career at Juventus and Atalanta Bergamo has been coach of Fiorentina since the start of the 2005-2006 season and was twice voted Italy's coach of the year.
